EcoBlend Bioheat® Heating Oil, Our Version Of Bioheat® Fuel – Renewable Resources
Table of Contents
Bioheat® fuel is a powerful home heating option as it offers a cleaner burn. It is made using various renewable agricultural byproducts, such as inedible corn oil, soybean oil, and other recycled oils. This process generates a renewable resource that fuel oil heating systems can burn. It greatly differs from conventional home heating oil, which utilizes fossil fuel to produce heat.
What is Bioheat® oil? It is an energy-efficient source of fuel that utilizes soybean oil, vegetable oils, soybean oil, and other typical waste products and mixes it with ultra-low sulfur heating oil. As a result, cleaner-burning fuel is made.
Combining these fuels produces a product that can lower carbon emissions by combining algae oil, animal fat, animal oils, and recycled grease into conventional diesel fuel, which usually has 20% biodiesel. The result is known as Bioheat® oils. It is usually a blend of diesel fuel and heating oil to create an effective, environmentally-friendly Bioheat® fuel that generates lower sulfur.
Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions
The best feature renewable resources like Bioheat® fuel has to offer is that they can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by a wide margin. Adding Bioheat® fuels to conventional home heating oil creates blended fuels that reduce fossil fuels’ overall utilization and consumption. This is an aspect that is certainly good for the environment.
How much carbon content heating oil has depends on the specific blend level. Common biofuel blends are B5, which contains a 5% blend of biodiesel, and B20, with a 20% biodiesel blend. There is also B50 which contains a 50% biodiesel blend and a 100% blended fuel called B100.
The carbon content reduction level depends on the particular blend. Currently, homeowners can effectively use B20 to lower greenhouse gas emissions and carbon emissions by up to 20%. Over time, these biofuel blends improve, and homeowners can eventually reduce their greenhouse gas emissions even further.
Heating Equipment – No Modifications Needed!
It is very exciting to heat a home using EcoBlend Bioheat® Heating Oil (a.k.a. Bioheat® fuel). What’s more, homeowners do not need to modify their existing home heating equipment to use these effective renewable resources.
However, many homeowners still believe that they need to change their heating system and spend thousands of dollars on upgrading their system so they can use EcoBlend Bioheat® Heating Oil. This is simply not true.
Homeowners don’t need to alter their heating systems or storage tanks in any way to use this renewable energy source. No changes are needed at all, starting from the first time they use it to the 100th time they use it.
Many think that this renewable alternative to traditional heating oil is the future of home heating. This is excellent news as it means homeowners can use it as soon as possible without modifying any kind of heating system they might have.
Conventional Home Heating Oil
Distillates are diesel fuel and heating oil for homes. These products are petroleum-based fuel sources used to heat homes and offices. They are usually sold to be used in boilers, furnaces, and hot water heaters.
Traditional heating oil comes from domestic oil refineries and imports from other countries. Recently, heating oil providers have been mixing biofuels into petroleum distillates. Doing so reduces the negative greenhouse gasses and produces a more renewable fuel. Hart Home Comfort and other energy suppliers deliver heating oil directly to consumers after storing it in storage terminals.
Ultra-Low Sulfur Heating Oil
Ultra-low sulfur heating oil, or ULSHO, is a fuel source containing substantially less sulfur content than the usual 500 ppm. It positively impacts the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and limiting the sulfur content to less than 1%.
A fuel with less sulfur content means less sulfur dioxide emissions. As a result, there is reduced acid rain and unnecessary haze. It can also reduce the number of unnecessary lung and heart-related diseases.
The industry has committed to achieving a 100% carbon neutral solution by 2050. Replacing ULSHO with 100% biofuel is the way to go to accomplish this. Our goal is to have EcoBlend Bioheat® Heating Oil reach 100% carbon-free emissions before the industry-mandated 2050 deadline.
EcoBlend Bioheat® Heating Oil & Bioheat® Fuel – Standards Towards Reducing Emissions Today
The Paris Agreement shows unprecedented unity as it includes 196 countries working together to reduce the increasing temperatures. They are currently trying to prevent the average temperature from rising two degrees Celsius, and the overall goal is to prevent it from increasing below 1.5 degrees Celsius.
To help make this a reality, our goal is to lower and eventually eliminate greenhouse gasses by using our heating oil solution. Right now, our customers reduce their heating-related carbon emissions by 20% annually, and this number is expected to get better over time as our EcoBlend Bioheat® Heating Oil becomes more environmentally friendly.
